Kids' Care Connection

This program is licensed, and is therefore required to meet minimum health and safety standards in order to provide early care and education in Minnesota. Examples of health and safety standards required of licensed child care programs:

  • Staff members pass background checks
  • Health consultant visits
  • Sick child exclusion policy
  • Emergency plans
  • Facilities meet building codes
  • Prohibition of smoking on premises
  • Policy for checking children in and out of program
  • Teachers and caregivers have first aid and CPR training

Additional health and safety checks have been adopted voluntarily by this early care and education program

Yes Has a policy for checking children in and out of your program that includes checking IDs to ensure individuals picking up children have prior written authorization to do so

Yes Uses a child care health consultant who has received training for child care health consultants that aligns with the National Child Care Health and Safety Standards
